Folks seem to like the This is Sparta figurine set, as I've sold four of them already. One of my clients requested a larger set -- instead of the standard 6" set, they wanted an 8" set and they paid me an extra $7 for it.

I started off simply using a larger sheet for the body, and welding two nails (used for arms/legs) together to make it longer. Unfortunately, that didn't really work out very well, because at that size, the thickness of the nails make the arms and legs look skeletal.

In order to give the extremities some thickness, I opted to go with thin strips of sheet metal, bent into the shape of arms and legs, and came up with these bodies:

I'm not done yet with them (no heads, no sword), but I'm quite pleased with the way they've come out so far. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to create my personal style with the larger pieces, but I think they turned out exactly right.
