A BIGGER WAL*MART

Our local walmart is apparently getting bigger. In Lacey, Washington, the walmart currently sits on 143,186 square feet, with plans to increase footage by 66% to a monstrous 216,076 square feet, adding on a grocery store, pharmacy, and police substation. I'm not pro-walmart, but i'm not anti-walmart either. The recent flap about the walmart-parody website and walmart's subsequent knockdown of the site is interesting, but I don't think that's as much of a walmart issue as it is a corporate-america issue. I'm more interested in how walmart affects me and the people around me. Lacey is a medium sized down - we'll just have to wait and see how the presence of a super center affects the local economy.
