WASHINGTON EMISSIONS

April 22, 2005
by: jovial_cynic
The Washington Senate (29-19) and House (53-42) passed a bill to start regulating auto emissions in Washington. On a grand scale, this is a good thing, because less emissions is ultimately better for everybody. However, my involvement in hobby-auto scene causes me to be concerned over any emissions laws that could put older non-compliant cars off the road. Fortunately, the details of this current bill are focused on *new* cars; auto makers will be forced to manufacture cars that produce less emissions by 2009. My car hobby is still safe.
