WHAT TO DO WITH THESE GROCERY BAGS...

I was going through my pantry today to clean it out, and I realized that I've been storing up safeway grocery bags... for nearly 2 years. In my head, I had assumed that I was using them almost as quickly as I was getting them from the grocery store for things like bathroom garbage cans and the such... but it turns out that I haven't even been close.

So... I pulled all the garbage bags out of the pantry and had a mountain of them covering my kitchen floor. I know that I can put them in my plastic recycle bin and have the recyclers take them away, but I figure... maybe somebody's got a clever idea for what to do with them besides that. I read in some article online that you can iron them together between pieces of paper and form a type of fabric that can be sewn. That's cool (although it starts to release fumes that give me a headache...), and I may do that for a few small projects, but what do I do with the rest of them?

Any ideas?

We save ours too and then we take them to either the food bank or the YWCA. They both use them to give out there donations and I would rather see that happen then see them going in the trash! :0)

Wow dear... YOU'VE been saving up these bags for 2 years huH? And YOU'VE were cleaning out the pantry? That's very interesting. Are you sure that it wasn't your wife that puts the bags there and I thought that your WIFE was in the pantry cleaning!!! :P

Uh huh. That's what I thought. We use them for picking up dog poop. They're also good for bringing beer over to your friend Luke's house... heh heh heh
