YAHOO AND THE DRAGON

I don't really have much of an opinion of Yahoo, since I don't really use any of their services except for their instant messenger and flickr... and I barely use those. However, Yahoo's recent involvment with China in their attempt to track down Shi Tao, a chinese journalist, makes me concerned about the direction Yahoo is headed.

Shi, who wrote an email about press restrictions in China, was sentenced in April (thanks to the help of Yahoo) and will receive TEN years in prison for "illegally providing state secrets to foreigners."
