Russian climate change skeptics Galina Mashnich and Vladimir Bashkirtsev are wagering $10,000 against British climate change expert James Annan that the planet will actually cool over the next decade, contrary to the general belief that the earth will gradually warm due to human activity.

The two russian scientists are solar physicists, and contend that global temperatures are influenced most by solar activity, and that the sun is expected to enter a less active phase over the next 10 years. They believe this will result in a drop of global temperatures.
