A friend of mine and I have talked at length about the trend of our current administration to provide more rights to the private sector... meaning private business, and not at all meaning the private individual. Just recently, the supreme court ruled that local governments can seize private property and hand it over to businesses who might make better use of the land.

As a result, cities have wide power to bulldoze residences for projects such as shopping malls and hotel complexes to generate tax revenue.
