I previously posted about Bank of America's recent mishap, where employees sold off customer data for over 600,000 clients. Sucks, right? Well not as bad as it sucks for CitiFinancial, who just LOST customer data for 3.9 MILLION US clients, "including social security numbers and payment histories."
Oh, but wait. It looks like "the tapes were produced 'in a sophisticated mainframe data center environment' and would be difficult to decode without the right equipment and special software."
Right. Anyhow. It looks like UPS is potentially culpable as well, since they're the carrier used by CityFinancial. What can brown do for you, eh?
