MYSPACE TO BLAME FOR THREAT?

It looks like a couple of teens plastered their myspace pages with threats of violence towards their school, stating that two boys were going to show up with guns at the school. Valid threat? Are they "terrorists?" Are they just taunting, with references to Columbine? In any event, the folks that posted the content on myspace are going to face felony charges.

Pascual Gonzalez, executive director at the school district suggests that myspace should be held responsible for the problem that the school is having.

From the article:

"It just seems to me that if you put up a public web site, and you allow students, teeangers, minors to post their thoughts and ideas, and not monitor it in an adult manner, you are asking for trouble," Gonzales said. "This particular web site has been a pain for all Bexar County schools for a long time now, and it just seems that the owners of MySpace-dot-com should be held accountable."

Brilliant. Let's put a ban on free speech, and hold forums of free speech responsible for the crap that stupid people say. That makes perfect sense.
