It looks like the Washington State Senate passed a bill to increase the gas tax another 9.5 cents, moving Washington further ahead to be the highest taxed state for EVERYTHING. We're already the 8th highest state with 28 cents a gallon, and I'm sure with the huge surge this year in gas prices, everybody's going to appreciate dolling out another 9.5.

The bill goes to the house to get passed, and if it does, we're looking at a 3 cent increase the first year, another 3 the following year, 2 cents the year after that, and 1.5 in the 4 year. Fantastic. And all the money is going to go into fixing up the Alaskan Way Viaduct, HW-520, and I-405... and I never drive on those roads.
