BIGDOG WALKER-BOT

I always thought that when the machines rise up against us, they would be pretty easy to avoid because they're all on wheels, and wheels can't go up stairs. And once you knock a robot down, it usually has a hard time getting back up again.

And then I saw this cute thing:

It's like a little robotic bug. Look how it slowly crawls over the pile of rubble without falling over. So cute and harmless.

And then I discovered that this robot was a prototype for a much larger version. Not so cute anymore. It's horrifying. It's relentless. It WILL GET YOU.

I am certain that the machines will have no problem hunting us down and turning us into fertilizer.

Wow. I wonder, when people are engineering these things, if they realize they're engineering the doom of our entire species?

If science fiction has taught me nothing else, I've learned that our betrayal at the hands of our own AI/Robot creations is inevitable.

Haven't these people ever seen The Matrix/Terminator/2001/Battlestar Galactica???

Yup. Of course the movie "I, Robot" suggests that it won't be betrayal, but rather the only acceptable course of action. And maybe the machines will be right. We are a corrupt species, after all.

:: shrug ::

On the other hand, riding a mechanized horse sounds delightful. :)
